Discover your perfect garden

Are you a rose-lover, are those first snowdrops your favourites, or do the showy azaleas and rhododendrons steal your heart?

We invite you to visit a wide range of exceptionally beautiful gardens, from extensive country landscapes and romantic cottage gardens, to urban hideaways and ancient woodlands.  The National Garden Scheme searches the length and breadth of England and Wales for the very best private gardens. With more than 3,700 to choose from, there’s a perfect garden for everyone. Find yours at www.ngs.org.uk.

And what could be better? A quintessentially British day out in a beautiful garden, often with delicious homemade teas, in the knowledge that your visit is helping to raise impressive amounts of money through admissions, teas and cake, to fund vital nursing and health charities.

Whether you visit a garden for horticultural inspiration, a relaxing day out with friends and family, or for an opportunity to reconnect with nature, your perfect garden awaits.

No booking required, find full details of gardens, open days, locations and directions, along with lots of beautiful photos, on our website at www.ngs.org.uk

Your visit helps to change lives

Originally set up in 1927 to support district nurses, the National Garden Scheme now raises millions of pounds for nursing and health charities each year.  Thanks to the generosity of generations of garden owners and visitors, as well as volunteers, bakers and tea makers, we have donated £58 million so far.  Our beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK, The Queen’s Nursing Institute and Horatio’s Garden.

We also support charities doing amazing work in gardens and health, and grant bursaries to help community gardening projects.
