Tucked away in rural Surrey, you’d hardly know Walton on Thames Club Site is just half an hour from Central London. It’s ideal for day trips into the capital - hop on the train from Walton-on-Thames direct to Waterloo, and spend a fascinating day touring the city’s world-famous sites.
With so much to see and do, plan your day well in advance. Gain a bird’s eye view of the city from the Shard, enjoy a sweeping vista from the London Eye, step inside Westminster Abbey, wander down The Mall to see the famous Buckingham Palace, and enjoy a wonderful visit to the Natural History Museum. Add a dash of luxury to your day with Afternoon Tea at the Ritz.
Of course, there’s plenty more to Walton Club Site than day trips to London. For a hearty dose of adrenalin, head to the much-loved theme parks of Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, and Legoland, where kids (and big kids too) can go wild on wacky rides and looping rollercoasters. For something a little more sedate, head to Hampton Court Palace - once the palatial home of King Henry VIII and his six wives. Here you can experience Royal life by exploring the splendid interiors and wandering around the magnificent estate with its rich variety of gardens and plants.
For attractions closer to home, follow the riverside trail from Walton Club Site into the pretty village of Hersham and visit the lovely walled garden at Sunbury Park. The campsite itself is light on facilities - there aren't any showers or toilets here, so you'll need to have suitable facilities in your unit.
